Daniel Couceiro is a biologist and ecologist with a deep commitment to environmental education and conservation. As part of Wired Amazon, he led several citizen science projects, including Aerobotany, AmazonCam, Discovering New Species, and HarpyCam, where he helped bridge the gap between research and public engagement in the Peruvian Amazon. For three years, Daniel worked on the ground in Tambopata, coordinating efforts to monitor jaguar populations and uncover new insect species. A National Geographic Explorer, he later founded the Fly High Bird Club in Colombia’s Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, empowering local youth through birdwatching, photography, amphibian monitoring, and ecological restoration. Daniel is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Learning Sciences at Wageningen University, continuing his mission to connect people, science, and nature through education and storytelling.
