César Arana is a RENACYT scientific researcher and biologist specializing in ecology and biogeography, with an outstanding track record in scientific research and academic training. He currently serves as Principal Investigator in the Department of Ecology at the Natural History Museum of the National University of San Marcos, where he leads studies focused on understanding the ecological and biogeographical patterns of Peruvian biodiversity.
At the same time, he is a professor at the Faculty of Biological Sciences at the National University of San Marcos, where he actively contributes to the training of new generations of scientists. His academic output includes numerous articles published in specialized scientific journals, as well as three books on birds, consolidating his contribution to the knowledge and dissemination of avifauna.
Currently is the technical manager of the ECOTECH-MACAW project, an initiative funded by PROCIENCIA–CONCYTEC that integrates science, technology, and innovation for the research and conservation of emblematic species. His work reflects the approach of Wired Amazon, where applied science and rigorous knowledge become key tools for the conservation of Amazonian ecosystems.
