8 Primates, Regenerative Travel Impact Award 2025

We are proud to share that 8 Primates, our flagship research project developed through Wired Amazon, has been recognized with the Regenerative Travel Impact Awards 2025 in the Regenerative Travel Experience category. This international recognition highlights experiences that redefine the role of travel by fostering deep understanding, meaningful engagement, and long-term positive impact. Rooted in the Peruvian Amazon, 8 Primates exemplifies how scientific research can be seamlessly integrated into the guest experience, transforming a stay in the rainforest into a contribution to knowledge and conservation.

Led by Dr. Mark Bowler from the University of Suffolk, and developed in alliance with SERNANP and AIDER, with support from the Moore Foundation, the project focuses on studying the eight primate species found in the Tambopata region through behavioral observation and bioacoustic monitoring. For us, this award reaffirms a way of traveling that goes beyond minimizing impact—one that actively contributes to regenerating the forest through knowledge, deepens our guests’ understanding of the Amazon as a living system, and helps protect this extraordinary ecosystem for future generations.
