I participated as a volunteer with Wired Amazon from 15th June - 15th July 2023. Wired Amazon is an organization, part of Rainforest Expeditions, which runs tropical rainforest conservation and wildlife research projects in Departamento Madre de Dios from of the three Rainforest Expedition lodges: Tambopata Research Centre (TRC), Refugio Amazonas, and Posada Amazonas. Wired Amazon is primarily based at TRC. TRC is based within the Reserva Nacional Tambopata.

I had a positive experience with Wired Amazon; the opportunity to participate in several important and engaging projects, contribute to the conservation of the Amazon Rainforest was incredibly rewarding. Being able to spend a month in the rainforest, experience, contribute to, and explore this beautiful and vibrant environment was my highlight. The programme offers volunteers flexibility and the option to choose which projects they participate with, although some volunteers may find this unstructured.
